Finally he found himself in a good place again. Nic had everything he could have hoped for. He had Camryn by his side, a better woman than he would have ever dreamed of asking for. He had a family of sorts in his best friend David, and the others that shared the home. He even had a dog, a Belgian Sheepdog named Cady who worshipped the ground he walked on, as any good dog will. And the rabbit Cinder, cat-like as he was in his independence, to remind him he wasn’t everything the dog thought he was.
Some days it all feels like some amazing dream, and he can’t help but be terrified, somewhere deep down inside, of everything crashing down around him. With the distraction of all the good in his life, he has suppressed the monster for longer than he would have ever thought possible. But it can’t last forever.. the more time that passes, the more those dark thoughts start to slip back into his head. He can only hope, when he breaks, those he loves most will still be there to pick up the pieces.
